Automotive SYSTEMS ENGINEERSAutomotive SYSTEMS ENGINEERS Posted February 15, 2008 We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Seats and Seating Systems Engineers to work in our Research and Development and Product Development groups based at the corporate office in the Columbus, OH area. Selected applicants will: - Generate design concepts as required and perform vehicle and seat package studies using Catia v5 CAD software - Evaluate seat and mechanism kinematics, FEA analysis, and interpret results - Perform studies to benchmark and evaluate competing design proposals - Optimize existing designs and products for improved performance - Create drawings and apply GD&T, Critical and Significant characteristics - Develop knowledge and expertise in the areas of seating engineering in the organization - Generate BOM's, maintain open issues lists, and other engineering documents - Conduct component tolerance studies and assembly stack evaluations - Perform engineering calculations for mass, strength and performance - Schedule and comprehend test results, prepare DFMEA's, PFMEA's and DVP&R's - Prepare engineering documents, and coordinate with customer, suppliers and assembly plants. Must have: - Strong theoretical and practical experience in design and testing - High analytical ability for solving difficult or unusual problems - Proficient in design and development of mechanisms, and structures including seat adjusters, recliners, head restraints, lumbar mechanisms, seat back latches, floor latches, etc. - Proficient in MS Office Suite - Ability to assist in the development, assignment, prioritization and implementation of projects and programs - Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently as well as work in a team environment - Ability to travel domestically and internationally (must be passport eligible) Must be: - Highly driven and results-oriented withy ability to work both independently and collaboratively with excellent planning and organization skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required with fluency in Spanish, German, Chinese or Russian a plus.
